Morehead City Real Estate & Things to do!: May 2011

More than Just a Three Day Weekend.....

More than Just a Three Day Weekend.....

So, It's Memorial Day Weekend.  The Beach is Hoppin' with folks, the coolers are packed with picnic lunches and cold drinks.  The Grills are prepped and ready for burgers. dawgs, steaks, and Assorted Kabobs in my case!  The watermelons are ready to be sliced and devoured, the blender is smokin' from blending the Margaritas, the boat is washed, waxed and ready for the water.

Summer is here, and so is the time to remember what Memorial Day is really all about!  I'll be the first to admit that I love a three day weekend.  My bell peppers are sliced and ready to be combined with steak and chicken and onions for my "All Time Favorite" cookout meal.  We stocked up on beer and Snow Cone Syrup, Corn on the cob is ready to be thrown on the grill, Baked beans waiting for the oven, Ice Cream is patiently waiting for the root beer floats this evening.  The sparklers are ready to be lit, and the boat is ready to go.  Our American Flag is Waving Proudly in the Carolina Blue Sky and we are now ready to kick back and enjoy the day!

But, why are we allowed this holiday?  Today is Memorial Day.  A day to remember the many service men and women who sacrificed their lives for all of us.    Go ahead and enjoy your day.  I hope your weather is as perfect as ours is here on the Crystal Coast, but please don't forget to stop and remember exactly what it is you are celebrating as you enjoy your freedom today and every other day!
