Because I said So.....That's Why!
Last night, My two nephews came to our house for a sleepover. Tanner, my six year old, absolutely loves having his cousins around (and it keeps me from hearing the dreaded...."I want a brother"). Thank goodness for Wii and Playstation! Without them, I would be totally exhausted today! Okay....I am exhausted anyway :0) Over the course of the evening and then this morning trying to get 3 little boys ready for school, I can't tell you how many times I caught myself saying "Because I said So", and the "Why?", "Why?", and "Why?" was driving me crazy!!!!
Why seems to be the question many buyers ask these days. Why should we make an offer now? Why is that tree in the back yard dead? Why don't we wait until prices go down even more? Why won't they leave the furnishings? Why won't they pay our closing costs? Why aren't you willing to drop your commission to save us a little money? Why should we have a home inspection? Why should we put down Earnest Money? Why do we need loan pre-approval? Why won't the sellers replace the roof? Why does the county only have the house listed with 1500 square feet when there is actually 1502? Why can't we close next week? Why should we have a termite inspection? Why has the property been on the market for 2 years? Why won't the sellers let us move in prior to closing? Why should we offer full price? Why is the tax value so high? Why is the home listed with only 3 bedrooms, when there are 4? Why should we worry with Due Diligence? Why is the property "non-conforming"? Why, Why, Why, Why, Why.......
Sometimes, It sure would be easy to put on my "Mommy Hat" and just answer with "Because I said so.... That's Why"! Of course, that's not what I get paid to do and I promise to leave my "mommy hat" at home when I am working with buyers.
