Okay Folks..... It's time to prepare!
Tropical Storm Emily is out there and right now, they are not expecting it to hit the east coast. But.... We are still in the cone as of this morning! If you haven't
already prepared for Hurricane Season, now's the time. By Monday morning, Emily is predicted to be a Hurricane, and is going to be just off our coast here in North Carolina. If the path changes slightly, it could hit us as a Category I storm. Not too devastating, but we still could lose power, experience high winds, downed trees and debris. Make sure you have your disaster supply kit stocked and ready to go. If you do not have a generator, don't fill the freezer this weekend, or you could lose a lot of food. Stock the pantry with non-perishable food items and lots of water (3 gallons per day, per person - don't forget the pets). Not too worried about Emily? Go ahead and prepare anyway.... There will always be the next one.
Remember, while tropical storms and Hurricanes can be somewhat exciting, they can be very dangerous....STAY SAFE, STAY INFORMED AND STAY PREPARED.

Hello Amy,
Nice post. A good reminder of the items needed in case of a big storm. It seems the weather has become more violent within the past few years. Hurricanes and Tornadoes then w=old man winter comes along with a couple blizzards or noreaster's.
Make it a great day !!
Hope Emily doesn't hit, but best to be prepared Amy..........great suggestions and advice.
Good morning Amy,
The best way to be ready for Emily however she blows in is to be prepared. Great reminder to "stay safe, stay prepared and stay prepared!"
Amy, you're so right, she may not be devastating, but she'll be inconvenient!
Thanks Amy, yep, that time of the year when those of us in Florida need to have our supplies ready and keep a watchful eye out for the tracks.
Good morning, Amy. Time to batten down the hatches as all this hot weather may create an abnormal hurricane season...
I have lived in Florida for about 30 years off and on...and I am always prepared. All it takes is one time for you to be caught without and you learn!
Excellent reminder Amy Hahn and way to look out for those folks in your community! That's just one of the many things that make you the go to Realtor on the Crystal Coast of NC for home buyers and home sellers alike!
Hi Amy, I always call my sister who lives in St. Agustine, Fla. to check to see if her ket is up to date and has fresh batteries. She is 2 blocks off the beach and has never when inland in 13 years. She has me worried all the time.
Amy - Why do they give nasty hurricanes such sweet names like "Emily"? Great advice to have a disaster supply kit and especially water. Up here we have earthquake kits! Stay safe!
