Morehead City Real Estate & Things to do!: There’s a hurricane coming!

There’s a hurricane coming!

Thanks for writing this post Marian (aka MOM).  So many folks don't realize how much work is thrown at us during a hurricane.  With so many out of town clients, it's only right that we do as much as we can to prepare our own homes as well as our listings.  Stay safe.... Here's hoping for the best for all on the East Coast and in the line of Hurricane Irene!

There’s a hurricane coming!

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Seller,

Today has been a day of frustrations.  Whenever a hurricane is brewing, our phones ring off the hook.  In addition to our already busy schedules, we find ourselves fulfilling many duties that are “above and beyond”, but duties that we are happy to provide when we can; things such as bringing in outdoor furniture to secure for our elderly clients, or doing the same thing for our absentee owners.  We answer all sorts of questions, such as: how can I get a reentry pass and who can I call to help me put up my shutters?

Amidst all that, we have to take care of our own things, such as being sure we have supplies at home in case we don’t have to evacuate but lose power; packing bags in case we do have to evacuate, finding our own reentry pass; filling our gas tanks, and making arrangements for own shutters to go up; making lists of the things we have to do for our business, such as taking down all signs(They can become deadly weapons in high winds.) and backing up all computers.

Despite all those things, life goes on… and if we’re lucky, business continues.

So as I was juggling all this, I saw your file on my desk and thought how pleased I am that I have loyal customers and clients and realized all over again how blessed I am to be in this exciting line of work.  Thank you for choosing me as your REALTOR®.

When the storm is past, I’ll be right back in the office and so pleased to have folks like you who keep me in business.  Thanks.

Frank and Karen - Our concern is that..... What if Irene has a problem listening?  You know, some folks just don't listen.  Whatever happens, you guys stay safe down in Sunset Beach!

OH man....I have been so out of it I didn't know! I'll pray she stays away too. Down on the gulf coast where I have my condo we just got through the BP Oil spill....we don't need any hurricanes this year.

Amy,  I hope it stays out at sea and away from the future president, (your son). One more day of vacation.
